Oneonta Tunnel

The full restored Oneonta Tunnel on Scenic Route 30.

The Oneonta Tunnel was sealed in 1948 but revealed again fifty-five years later as part of the Historic Columbia River Highway restoration project.

Starting in June 2006, the Oregon Department of Transportation, using about $1.5 million in state and federal money, began restoring the tunnel to its 1920s appearance.

The tunnel official reopened March 21, 2009 for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
